Newsletter of the Society for Technical Communication, San Francisco Chapter June/July 2009 |
Dear Readers,
We've had a nice variety of meeting topics recently with excellent reviews for those members who have been unable to attend. Thank you to both our presenters and reviewers.
Both Intercom and Technical Communication, the STC publications, keep us informed on research, as well as more everyday practices. However, many topics remain undiscussed at our local level, especially as they pertain to our local Bay Area. Do you use a tool or method that hasn't been discussed on the international level? Have you found a great way to understand your users and what they really need? If your company solicits feedback through a wiki or social networking tool, how do you gain access to the information and how do you use it to improve your documentation? In general, what can you share that can make all of us more effective communicators?
Please feel free to submit an article on one of those topics or something that you think the rest of us should know about. For details, see the submission policy guidelines. I'm looking forward to your article.
And, I'm looking forward to see you at one of our upcoming meetings.
