Now that the weather is warming outside of the San Francisco city limits, the song “Summer-time, . . .and the livin’ is easy. . .” from Porgy and Bess has taken up residence in my head. It’s time to change the pace of our lives: the patio calls on warm evenings, the grill entices us away from the kitchen, the garden invites us to enjoy really fresh fruits and veggies.
But home life isn’t the only place to change our pace, we have some great opportunities coming up with chapter meetings. In June, we’ll hear about an approach to manage the hectic pace of documenting software iterations. In July, we’ll look at how to manage our content for various containers–and have our chapter’s first distance presentation experience.
If you’re looking for a longer-term change of pace with a chance to make a difference, you can look at the chapter’s volunteer opportunities. Some of them take only a very little time or are one-time only gigs, so they’re a great way to try out volunteering if this will be a new experience for you.
Summer–the living is easy and fun!
I’m looking forward to seeing you soon at a meeting.
